Dr. Timothy Montgomery (1958–2023)

Dr. Timothy Montgomery, beloved for his kind spirit and leadership, passed away on May 11, 2023, at age 65. He owned and operated Dacula Animal Hospital for nearly 40 years, caring deeply for his community’s pets and families.

A graduate of the University of Georgia (BS ’79, DVM ’83), Dr. Montgomery was a longtime leader in veterinary medicine. He served as president of the Georgia VMA (1999–2000), delegate to the AVMA House of Delegates (2007–16), and chair of the AVMA House Advisory Committee (2015). He also helped rewrite the Georgia Veterinary Practice Act and served on multiple AVMA boards.

Honored as Georgia Veterinarian of the Year (2012) and Distinguished Alumnus of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine (2001), Dr. Montgomery was widely respected for his servant leadership. Beyond veterinary medicine, he served on the Dacula City Council (2005–12) and was inducted into UGA’s Agriculture Honors Society (2011).

He is survived by his wife, Leslie, a daughter, a sister, and a brother, and was preceded in death by his son. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or UGA College of Veterinary Medicine.

Chelsea, is grade in the front end she’s very understanding. And she will help you in anyway she can. Dr Neal is the best. I am so happy that my sister told me about them. It’s a great hospital and great doctors and great staff. I love you guys. my dog is Daisy and she loves you too.

Cindy Sager

My furbaby, Trixie, was having issues with not being able to function as usual. I could tell she was in pain but couldn't pinpoint the problem. I called to see if Dr Neal could see her. I was surprised to hear that he could see her same day. Dr. Neal and his staff were wonderful. Kind, courteous and compassionate. Thank you Dacula Animal Clinic. She had a pinched nerve in her neck.

Wellness Visits

One of the best ways for pet owners to increase the quality and longevity of their pet’s life is to schedule annual checkups.

Vaccines & Preventive Care

We follow a safe and well-studied vaccine schedule for your pets. We believe in routine wellness care that helps keep your pets healthy and happy for as long as possible.

Spay/Neuter

Spaying or neutering your pet helps prevent dog and cat overpopulation that results in pet homelessness, as well as cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Exotics Care

We now care for reptiles, birds, rabbits, and other exotic pets! We offer wellness visits, sick visits, husbandry consultations, and more.

Dental Cleaning

Periodontal disease is not always apparent to pet owners, but it can cause oral pain, infection, inflammation, and other health problems. This decreases the quality of life for pets.

Emergency Care

Your Friends at Dacula Animal Hospital take pride in handling emergencies when patients cannot be seen by their regular veterinarian.
